Claude Code v2.1.236 Released: Adds Default Model Env Var & Idle Notifications

Claude Code released version v2.1.236. Key updates include the ANTHROPICDEFAULTMODEL environment variable to set the default model for new sessions; SendMessage now supports notifywhenidle for cross-session, one-shot idle notifications; and macOS sandbox wildcard read-deny rules (e.g., /.env) now take precedence and cannot be bypassed by renaming. The release also fixes bugs related to clipboard copying, background sessions, and MCP logs breaking after directory removal, as well as issues with fullscreen rendering and model picker overflow.
