OpenAI launches ChatGPT for Teens with Study Mode and anti-cheating measures
RebeccaBellan · x · 2026-08-20
OpenAI has launched a dedicated ChatGPT version for teenagers to address safety and educational concerns. Key features include Study Mode, which offers guiding questions and step-by-step support to foster understanding over quick answers; anti-cheating interventions that prompt students to use learning tools when cheating is detected; and homework reminders with visual learning aids. Parents and guardians will also gain enhanced controls. The release comes years after teens began using the platform and coincides with Meta's trial over teen addiction issues.
