Replit announced a deeper partnership with OpenAI, debuting 'Free Mode' powered by OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Luna model. This feature is now the default for paid Core and Pro users, designed to reduce AI token consumption during ideation and simple tasks. Replit noted that the initiative was made possible by OpenAI slashing Luna model costs by 80% in late July.
