Synchron's Stentrode BCI works via blood vessels, no brain surgery; Apple now accepts brain signals as native input

Around 15 million people live with motor impairment. Synchron's brain-computer interface, the Stentrode, lets them operate phones and computers through thought alone, restoring independence to those who've lost the ability to use their devices.
The Stentrode reaches the motor cortex through a blood vessel, borrowing the approach of cardiovascular stents — no brain surgery required. Apple recently recognized brain signals as a native input alongside touch and voice, and Synchron was the first to integrate with it. Watching someone drive it with no hands and no voice, straight from thought, is remarkable.
