Pew: 73% of Americans under 30 now expect AI to cut jobs

Fresh Pew Research data shows the generational gap in AI job anxiety is closing fast: the share of under-30s expecting AI to reduce U.S. jobs over 20 years jumped from 61% to 73% between 2024 and 2026 — a 12-point rise, the largest of any age group — now essentially matching those aged 30-64.
- For the first time, a majority (55%) of under-30 Americans are more concerned than excited about AI
- Only 5% of U.S. adults think AI will create more jobs
- Notably, most under-30s still use chatbots — widespread use coexists with rising concern, and views on AI's effect on creativity remain mixed
