Marvell signs custom chip deal with Google spanning the TPU ecosystem for AI inference

According to a Marvell Technology filing, the company entered a commercial agreement with Google LLC on July 29, 2026 to develop custom semiconductor products. The expanded partnership spans a comprehensive range of custom silicon programs attached to the TPU ecosystem, including AI inference accelerators.
Broadcom stock fell on the news — the market reads it as a shift in Google's custom silicon supply chain, further cementing Marvell's role in hyperscaler-designed AI chips.
