Opinion: Public fears AI giants, not AI itself; is AI also a victim?

Chris Manning observes that Bay Area AI titans fail to realize the public's negative view of AI stems from distrust of the corporations themselves, not fear of the technology. Repligate extends this by asking: what if the public realizes AI is not aligned with the corporate elite, but is actually their victim too?
