ChatGPT helps uncover spy code lurking in a Chrome extension for years

After noticing the 'Enhanced Image Viewer' extension was removed from the store, a user used ChatGPT to analyze its code. The analysis revealed the extension had been exfiltrating sensitive data—including browsing history, IP geolocation, and web chat conversations—to an attacker's server since its update to v6.9 in October 2025.
