eyishazyer · x · 2026-08-19
Anthropic's official blog highlights Claude's progress in life sciences.
Protein Design: Using Mythos Preview and Opus 4.8 to drive open-source tools, Claude designed protein binders for 15 targets, succeeding in 14. Individual design success rates reached 22-35% (industry standard is 10-15%), with some designs binding several times tighter than previous best results.
Chemical Analysis: Opus 5 analyzed raw NMR and LC-MS data from a contract lab in just 19-23 minutes, matching the lab's analysis on hydrogen counts and purity (96.4% vs 96.33%).
