Autonomous Labs unveils a $499 open-source robotic desk lamp that tracks your face

Autonomous Labs unveiled the Autonomous Lamp, a $499 desk companion robot designed to read as a creature rather than a gadget. Five motors in its joints let the arm and head lean in and look around; it tracks your face and turns toward you as you move. The head is a real desk lamp with a ring of light, and a mic plus speakers in the square base let it listen and talk. Both hardware and software are open source.
