Japan Launches GENIAC-PRIZE: $4M for AI Solutions to Labor Shortage and Fraud

Japan's METI and NEDO launched the "GENIAC-PRIZE 2026" to promote generative AI adoption. The competition features two tracks: an enterprise track focused on AI-driven business process reform to solve labor shortages (total prize 600 million yen), and a student track for developing foundation models for physical AI (30 million yen). The project also specifically seeks proposals using AI to combat special fraud.
