EchoVault: Posthumous AI that avoids agents to prevent hallucination drift
Emojinapp · reddit · 2026-08-19
EchoVault is an iOS app where users record life stories, allowing loved ones to query them later in a responsive format. To prevent the model from inventing false memories to stay in character, the author avoided agents entirely. The system uses a deterministic flow between two prompted models: a 'Biographer' that extracts stories and an 'Echo' that answers strictly grounded in collected transcripts. It refuses to answer outside verified data to avoid the worst failure mode—fluent fabricated memories.
