China adopts human-in-the-loop convoys: lead truck driven, self-driving followers

China is taking a human-in-the-loop route rather than waiting for fully driverless trucks. A human operates the lead vehicle while self-driving trucks follow in a convoy. This brings freight automation to logistics hubs before robotaxis are ready for open roads.
