Top AI governance scholars are leaving academia for AI labs, researcher says

AI governance researcher Seán Ó hÉigeartaigh argues academia — especially at senior levels — still favors people who don't take frontier AI/AGI seriously, citing the ironically named DeepMind Chair at Cambridge. A bigger factor, he adds, is that the best frontier AI governance scholars are flocking to the companies themselves.
