Chinese video model startup Shengshu weighs HK IPO seeking over $500M

Bloomberg reports Shengshu Technology, maker of the Vidu video generation model, is considering a Hong Kong IPO that could raise over $500M, working with CICC and CITIC Securities. Founded by Tsinghua AI researchers and incubated by RealAI, Ant Group and Baidu Ventures, the company raised nearly RMB 6B across rounds since February 2026, with a valuation above $2B after its B round. Its ViduQ3 ranked second on Artificial Analysis' video generation leaderboard at launch, and it also explores world models and embodied AI via Motubrain.
