Answering questions on X, Matt Shumer shared his angel investing style: he writes small checks (as with OpenRouter and Etched); when he believes, he believes hard; and about 90% of the time he knows he's going to invest before even meeting the founder, committing on the spot.
He also noted he's helped multiple companies break out using his audience, naming Groq, Etched, and OpenPipeAI.
