GenBio Unveils AIDO Cell: General-Purpose Virtual Cell World Model
HongyiWang10 · x · 2026-08-19
GenBio AI released AIDO Cell, a general-purpose virtual cell simulator built on a biological world model. Unlike one-shot predictions, AIDO Cell maintains a persistent cellular state that can be perturbed, cloned, and queried across DNA, RNA, proteins, regulation, and phenotypes.
Key features:
- Spans 5 biological task families, achieving SOTA on 24/31 benchmark metrics.
- Supports continuous, multi-turn virtual experiments.
- Simulates 1M five-plex perturbations per prototype cell line.
- Can design molecules toward a desired cellular state.
This shift from predicting to simulating biology suggests virtual cells are becoming actual scientific infrastructure, potentially reducing drug discovery costs and timelines.
