Claude Science Designs Protein Binders: Success on 14/15 Targets, Challenges Remain
AllThingsApx · x · 2026-08-19
Anthropic's Claude Science successfully designed novel protein binders against 14 out of 15 targets in tests. Claude orchestrated multiple design and co-folding models, optimized sequences, and performed in silico screening. However, some targets remain challenging, such as maltose-binding protein (MBP), where none of 90 designs showed strong binding. Anthropic is working to safely deliver these capabilities via its trusted access program.
