Brex data shows startups' "first database" is changing hands:
- Supabase's share of first independent database purchases rose from 15% in 2023 to 38% in 2026
- Pinecone fell from 22% to under 2%
- Vector search isn't dead — it's being absorbed into Postgres
Also: nearly 1 in 10 startups joining Brex in 2025 bought Supabase within their first year; the median time from generating an app with Lovable, Replit or Bolt to paying for Supabase or Neon is just 106 days.
