UC Berkeley math professor Zvezdelina Stankova admitted to using an AI tool in an op-ed urging the UC system to re-adopt standardized testing requirements. Detector Pangram flagged 33% of the article as AI-generated or AI-assisted. A similar AI signature was found in a June open letter advocating for testing, which was signed by thousands of academics and co-written by Stankova.
