Morgan Stanley: US data centers need 68GW power by 2028
tctjr · x · 2026-08-19
Morgan Stanley projects US data centers will require around 68GW of power between 2026 and 2028. With 15GW under construction and another 15GW of grid capacity contracted, there remains a raw shortfall of roughly 38GW. To put 68GW in perspective, a typical nuclear reactor produces around 1GW, highlighting the massive infrastructure challenge ahead.
