SemiAnalysis reports that every co-author of the 'Attention Is All You Need' paper has now left Google. Jeff Dean and Sanjay Ghemawat left to build Discovery Loop; Oriol Vinyals and Quoc Le joined them; Noam Shazeer is at OpenAI; John Jumper is at Anthropic; and Demis Hassabis stepped back from daily DeepMind management. This reinforces a strategic shift towards monetizing TPU infrastructure and cloud services.
