Claude Code v2.1.235 adds local spellcheck, fixes permission-grant bug and memory bloat
ashwin-ant · ghdev · 2026-08-19
Anthropic shipped Claude Code v2.1.235 with:
- Optional spellcheck setting that underlines typos in the prompt input using local aspell/hunspell/ispell
- Fix for whole-prompt-cache invalidation when a language server disconnects mid-session
- Fixed Shift+Tab in permission-dialog comments accidentally granting session-wide edit permission; "don't ask again" now matches exactly what a grant covers
- Terminal UI fixes for nested markdown lists and shifted highlights in multi-line prompts
- Lower memory/CPU usage while cloud sessions like /ultrareview or /autofix-pr run in background
- Embedded grep now fails fast on pathological patterns instead of exhausting memory
