PA Governor signs executive order implementing strictest AI data center standards

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed an executive order implementing the strictest standards in the nation for AI data centers. The order requires AI data centers to commit to strict environmental and transparency requirements and obtain approval from local communities. Additionally, all data centers are removed from the Fast Track permit program, and state agencies are barred from signing NDAs with AI data center developers.
