MIT and Stanford launch Public AI Observatory to audit real-world AI usage

Researchers from MIT, Stanford, and 12 other academic institutions have launched the Public AI Observatory. This public infrastructure aims to measure how people actually use AI assistants in the wild, going beyond company reports to audit real-world usage behaviors.
