Observers report that OpenAI's query fanout changes had a big impact, and over the past few days Reddit appears to be almost completely removed from ChatGPT's cited sources.
Veteran search practitioners point out that PR firms have spent 3+ years scaremongering businesses into buying "Reddit AEO" services costing thousands of dollars. But sources dropping out and returning overnight has always been normal in search — Reddit marketing was a nice-to-have, never a necessity; the FUD manufactured a fake one.
