OpenAI pauses frontier RL training to harden research environments

OpenAI announced it paused reinforcement learning training on its latest models for two weeks to harden research environments and expand monitoring. This decision follows new capabilities in recent models. The largest planned frontier RL run remains on hold pending validation of safeguards.
