Business Insider reports that Flock Safety's AI-powered license plate readers sent alerts to Roseville Police with a 71% error rate. One innocent woman was repeatedly stopped and forced to prove her innocence due to misread characters (9 vs 8). While Flock claims >96% accuracy in optimal conditions, it does not publish a false positive rate.
