Grok 4.6 launches with 5x lower price than GPT-5.6 Sol at same performance

Elon Musk announced that Grok 4.6 is available and that a major upgrade, Grok 4.7, is coming soon. Third-party benchmarks indicate Grok 4.6 scores 61 on Artificial Analysis, matching GPT-5.6 Sol. However, it offers drastically lower pricing: $2/1M input tokens (vs. $5) and $6/1M output tokens (vs. $30), making it 5x cheaper on output and offering ridiculous price-to-performance.
