Anthropic Races to Launch Fable 5.1 Before Astra, Possible Dual Release
haider1 · x · 2026-08-19
Rumors suggest Anthropic is aiming to launch Fable 5.1 before Astra. As Fable's base pre-training finished around Feb/Mar, Fable 5.1 is likely complete, with the next model in training. Both Fable 5.1 and Astra could drop this month. A subset of users is reportedly seeing greyscale testing for "Fable 5" on Claude Web and Claude Code, a pattern consistent with Anthropic's pre-launch protocol.
