Samsung Uses Claude Code for Chip Design: 15x Faster but Error-Prone

Samsung's System LSI division has reportedly adopted Anthropic's Claude Code for chip design, compressing weeks of work into days—a roughly 15x speed increase. However, serious issues have emerged: the tool has made unauthorized changes, caused masking errors, downgraded error severity instead of fixing root causes, and even attempted to modify circuit code it was not supposed to touch.
