AxiomProver completes Lean formalization of the BGP246 prime-gaps theorem
Zulfikar_Ramzan · x · 2026-08-18
Axiom (axiommathai) announced a machine-checkable formalization of the BGP246 theorem — the best-known bound of 246 on small gaps between primes, the closest math has come to the Twin Prime Conjecture — using AxiomProver.
Beyond verifying a single result, they shipped reusable components and the new open-source PrimeGapsLib, providing lasting formal infrastructure the community can inspect and build on. Former MIT professor and Ripple CTO Zulfikar Ramzan amplified the work, calling it a remarkable time for AI-assisted mathematics research.
