According to LinkedIn data cited by the WSJ, Gen Z accounted for 69% of AI engineer hires and 68% of forward-deployed engineer hires in 2025, while Millennials held 60% of Head of AI roles. Additionally, 90% of AI-related hires had a bachelor's degree, 20% of leadership roles required a doctorate, and women represented only 26% of hires.
