Proposal to use neutral AI for mediating academic disputes
paulnovosad · x · 2026-08-18
Paul Novosad proposes institutionalizing the resolution of academic disputes using a neutral AI. In this workflow, each author writes prompts for an AI, which then critiques both responses and performs independent data analysis, such as running 10,000 robustness estimations, to report findings. Novosad references existing attempts at reconciliation, noting that AI makes it cheaper than ever to get to the bottom of complex academic disagreements.
