Same essay as another post today: the author argues LLMs are the first technology whose material is meaning itself, forming coupled human-machine cognitive loops where the unit of analysis shifts from "the AI" to the relationship.
Cognitive functions like reflection, simulation and criticism are being externalized into a manipulable surface for cognition, cascading into education, creativity, expertise, epistemology and power — and giving ancient philosophical questions test harnesses for the first time.
