MIT AI Model Discovers Non-Toxic Thermoelectric Material
ProfBuehlerMIT · x · 2026-08-18
MIT's new AI model, SparksMatter, discovered CaMg₂Si₂, a thermoelectric material made from stable, non-toxic, earth-abundant elements. Unlike current best-in-class thermoelectrics that rely on scarce or toxic elements like tellurium or lead, this material offers a sustainable way to convert waste heat from engines and industry into electricity.
