rseroter · x · 2026-08-18
Linear released a report on AI usage patterns in software teams for 2026, analyzing adoption and impact based on data from tens of thousands of teams.
Key Findings:
- Universal Adoption: Between Jan and June 2026, AI feature usage more than doubled across all functions. Product teams grew fastest (12% → 34%), and even Go-to-market teams saw significant gains (5% → 18%).
- Time Allocation: Notably, "planning time" hasn't shifted, suggesting AI is currently driving most value in "execution."
The report aims to provide a benchmark for AI-assisted product development.
