GitHub outage lasts 7 hours as Cursor launches rival hosting Origin

GitHub experienced a nearly 7-hour outage yesterday, breaking pull requests, logins, and downloads. Coincidentally, Cursor started rolling out its own code hosting platform, Origin, just 3.5 hours prior. While Cursor calls it a coincidence, the outage gave developers a chance to explore a promising competitor, with initial reviews being fairly positive.
