Google won a bankruptcy auction for Spirit Airlines' internal corporate data for $10 million, intending to use it to improve products and train AI models. The dataset excludes passenger profiles but includes valuable operational records: approximately 100 million employee emails, 500 million Microsoft Teams messages, 30 million lines of code with metadata, and extensive financial, marketing, and HR databases. Google outbid AI data company Mercor ($7.5M) to leverage real-world corporate operational history for enterprise AI advancement.
