Researcher: dodging facts about China's AI leads DC into a parallel reality

A security researcher says he has consistently contributed to the #FudAtTheFrontier (FATF) effort and welcomes more like it. He has argued that steering away from the facts of China's AI progress makes real conversation impossible — Washington could end up in a version of reality so abstracted from both Beijing and San Francisco that no middle ground can be found.
