SF robotics paradox: Higher funding correlates with less real-world deployment

An observer notes a peculiar trend in the SF robotics scene: the more funding a startup has, the less likely its robot has ever touched a real object in an uncontrolled environment. There appears to be an inverse correlation between valuation and hours of real-world deployment.
