AI Model Predicts Breast Cancer Progression by Analyzing Centrosome Abnormalities
OpenSource_Horse · reddit · 2026-08-18
In a study published in Nature Communications, scientists from the University of Southampton developed the AI model CenSegNet to analyze centrosome abnormalities in breast cancer tissues. Analyzing over 330,000 centrosomes from 127 patients, the model identified two distinct abnormalities previously thought to be a single process. CenSegNet enables single-cell resolution analysis across entire tumors, revealing unique biological states and spatial distributions that could lead to new biomarkers and personalized treatment strategies.
