ComfyUI tool uses model hashes to auto-fix red missing-model nodes
demongatanjieu · reddit · 2026-08-18
A Reddit user released Anomalous Model Browser, now in ComfyUI Manager, targeting common pain points:
- Model Doctor: identifies models via safetensors header hashes instead of fragile file paths, auto-matching local files to fix red Missing Model nodes in one click
- Visual Node Assistant: selecting a model/LoRA node pops up a cover-image grid for instant swapping; LoRA insertion supports auto-wiring
- Workflow Recipes: save prompts, checkpoints, LoRAs and sampler settings as reusable recipes, applied instantly
- Lossless workflow exchange: share setups via text codes, bypassing metadata stripping on social platforms
Notably it adds zero custom nodes (empty NODECLASSMAPPINGS) — pure frontend enhancement that won't pollute workflows. Requires running the Scan Wizard first to build the local hash database. GitHub repo and video tutorial included.
