Nvidia guarantees up to $105B for OpenAI's Ohio data center lease

Nvidia has agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion in lease payments to support OpenAI's securing of a massive data center in Ohio developed by SB Energy (SoftBank-backed). SB Energy will own and operate the facility, while OpenAI leases the capacity and Nvidia supplies the compute. Nvidia notes that OpenAI's existing and planned commitments amount to about 12GW of compute. OpenAI's spending on Nvidia chips is projected to reach approximately $600 billion in compute capacity by 2030. This backing allows SB Energy to borrow cheaply against Nvidia's credit rather than OpenAI's.
