AI Cannot Replace Human Exploration; Research Papers Pile Up Unfollowed
tak3sh8 · x · 2026-08-18
A retweeted opinion suggests that many research papers end up archived in GitHub repositories without further progress, as the number of problems exceeds the number of active researchers. Current AI systems are not capable enough to autonomously carry this forward. Even if they become capable, results will simply become entries in a massive database, analogous to an atlas of cosmic objects that are observed and tagged but not deeply studied until necessary.
