Citing sources, Bloomberg reports Anthropic's annualized revenue has surpassed $65B as of end-July, up over 6x from $9B at the end of last year — about 1.63x OpenAI's $40B. Q2 preliminary revenue hit $11.5B, up 14x YoY. Roughly 80% of revenue comes from API and enterprise business, with Claude Code emerging as a second growth curve.
Investors expect an October IPO. With 2028 revenue guidance of $190B-$200B, the IPO valuation could reach $2 trillion, potentially beating SpaceX's record $1.77T. Its May Series H already valued it at $965B, overtaking OpenAI.
Risks remain: export controls briefly forced two flagship models offline, and tensions with the US government linger. CEO Dario Amodei publicly addressed power-concentration concerns, attributing it to structural Scaling Laws and proposing a regulatory framework covering cyber, bio and alignment risks while preserving room for open-weight models.
