Recreating Pulp Fiction with open-source models via ComfyUI time-slice pipeline
KamilSeven · reddit · 2026-08-18
Creator Gökhan Bıyık produced a Pulp Fiction-style animated short entirely with open-source models, built on Ingi Erlingsson's ComfyUI workflows and a custom time-slice pipeline.
The process: agent-assisted character and character-sheet design, animated shots and transitions generated in ComfyUI using Ingi's workflows, layering/rotoscoping/compositing in After Effects, then a final pass through the author's agentic time-slice system (an extension of Ingi's script run outside ComfyUI), with only minor timing adjustments to fit the music afterward.
