georgemillo · x · 2026-08-18
An analysis of 23,000 AI-generated PRs found that inexperienced developers opened 2x more PRs that were 2x larger than experienced devs'. However, their PRs generated 4x the review comments, were 31% less likely to be accepted, and took 5x longer to resolve. This suggests AI doesn't bridge the experience gap but increases maintainer burden.
