YC launch CarSignal: an AI operating system for auto repair shops
ycombinator · x · 2026-08-18
YC startup CarSignal is live, positioning itself as the AI operating system for auto repair shops — replacing a fragmented stack of shop software with one platform covering booking, quoting, diagnostics, invoicing, parts and payments. Already deployed in 40+ shops across 18 US states.
Four agents power the system: a voice agent acts as receptionist; a custom OBD-II scanner feeds factory-level data to a diagnostic agent for root-cause analysis; an estimating agent pulls real parts and labor times from wholesalers for instant quotes; and a marketing agent reminds customers of overdue maintenance. Founders come from UCLA and UC Berkeley with stints at Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon and Netflix.
