12,000 tok/s achieved on $250 FPGA board
ycombinator · x · 2026-08-18
LambLabs achieved 12,000 tokens/second inference on a $250 FPGA board. Although the small model struggles with coherent responses, it demonstrates the potential for extreme local inference speed. The demo suggests that waiting for LLM streaming text may soon seem outdated as hardware acceleration advances.
